We Sail In 4 Days!!! And It Seems The Closer It Gets The More Questions My Dh And I Have. What Is Considered Appropriate Dress For The First Night In The Pinnacle. This Concerns Us As I'm Not Sure What The State Of Our Clothes Will Be In. Would Ship Laundry Be Able To Press Prior To A 8 Pm Dinner? Westerdam 2/6/05

I wouldn't risk boarding the ship and getting something pressed in time for dinner. We've eaten in the Pinnacle the first night. We didn't "dress up" but had nice casual attire. If you can travel in something that doesn't wrinkle too badly, you should do fine. Maybe take a small bottle of Downy Wrinkle Release with you. It works well for us.

I had asked this same question just before our cruise.
If you look down 3 or 4 pages you should be able to find that thread.

We also ate at the Pinnacle Grill the first night. I wore a jacket and tie and DW wore a floral print dress. Around 60% of the people were sililarly dressed while the other 40% were in polo shirts / kahkis and the ladies in pants suits or casual dresses.

Whatever way you dress you will have a wonderful meal wih fine service.

we dined in the Pinnacle 3 times last November on the Volendam .. each time we followed the dress code for the evening. Our first dinner was the first night .. which is casual dress .. Hubby wore a polo/pants and I wore a casual dress. There wasn't anyone in the dining room that evening with a coat/tie..everyone was dressed casually. The other nights were semi-formal and casual .. on these nights there were people more dressed up than the required attire, but most were dressed according to the dress code for the evening. Have a great time!!

Just today I made reservations for the first night of our cruise in 5 weeks in the Pinnacle. For that night DH will just wear his dark sports coat over a polo shirt and I will wear a long sundress that is somewhere between casual and dressy. We also plan to go again on Friday night that night DH will wear a tie wil this dark sports coat and I will wear a short black cocktail dress. This will be the first time we are going to the Pinnacle on the first night. I feel bad about it but I am trying to convince DH it would be proper to stop by the main dining room before we eat and intoduce ourselves to the table and the waiters before we go to the Pinnacle at 6:30 (our dining time is 6:15). We decided that this cruise we wanted to go to the Pinnacle two times so I could get Volcano Cake one time and the Trio Creme Brulee' another:p

LAFFNVEGAS - We do the same thing you do. We make our reservations for the Pinnacle the first night - 15 min after the main dining room time. We always stop by and introduce ourselves to our tablemates. Penny

We have reservations for two nights in the Pinnacle as well. We are not going the first night - but have picked the third and seventh. I will adjust them if the Sommelier's dinner is available, or for formal night. I really do enjoy formal night in the dining room... oh also, if they are serving Beef Wellington in the D/R I will have a hard time getting DH into the Pinnacle... oh, these tough choices!

Even though the dress code may be casual for the night, DH always wears a sports jacket and I wear a skirt and matching blouse - even if we go there on the last night of the cruise.

The ship will be too busy getting everything ready to do a "quick" - "express" pressing of anything the first night.

Remember that your cabin steward will be getting luggage to his cabins most of the afternoon. He will also be stopping to introduce himself to you, seeing if anyone needs anything, etc. He wouldn't be able to get back to your cabin until around dinner time.
