Well, my intent was to do a Live From thread from this Ryndam Cruise, but I've already decided 7 days is just too short to spend my time writing. But I'll pop in from time to time and let you know what's especially exciting ...
Like today - when I met MamaLou for the very first time. What an amazing and gracious lady! I didn't have my camera, but am determined to get my pic taken with her the next time I see her. Or hear her - she has the cutest oo-ooga horn on her walker. Anyhow, aside from walking onto the ship, she was definitely the highlight of the day here!
Lots of changes since we were last on the Ryndam, all for the better. Details later. :)

Have a wonderful time, Donna and Jon. So happy you are on a 'dam' ship and hopefully have a great cruise. :)

She's a hoot! We really enjoyed getting to talk with her on the Zaandam a few years back.

We cruised with her two or three (four?) years ago and probably have some photos. We loved to listen to her stories and see her photos.
BTW we also will be on the RYNDAM (first time) four weeks from today.:D

I hate to sound dumb, but who is MamaLou? I'm assuming she is an older, almost live aboard passenger.

I heard she was on the Ryndam, but I never did see her in the 2 weeks I was on. I would love to see a picture of her.

We met her a few years ago on the Veendam. She is a living legend and a wonderful person.

Isn't Mama Lou a doll!!
Hope you got to read the menus I posted here on CC and saw the pictures I posted on 2 other sites of the Ryndam since her dry dock.
Enjoy your cruise.

Donna,
Thank you for reporting that Mama Lou is on the Ryndam. We met her on
the Statendam November last year. I have been thinking about her a lot recently, wondering how she is. What a wonderful lady. She told me that she was going to the Ryndam after leaving the Statendam . I am so pleased to know that she is still on a "Dam" ship, as I had not seen any mention of her on CC for a while. ( I recognised her from photos and reading about her here on CC). :)

. . . if she'll still be on next week. I'm counting the hours until I'm on the Ryndam for 14 days. And just maybe this famous passenger will be walking the promenade deck with me!
Does anyone know for sure how long she'll be on board????

Met Mama Lou on the Veendam three years ago. Incredible lady and very interesting. She's was a bit put out on our cruise as she had to get off the Veendam and didn't know exactly what she was going to do. It was at the end of the Caribbean season and the Veendam was headed to Europe.
