Yes, this is my first post on Cruise Critic, but I'm an experienced cruiser; just been lurking for a long time before posting.
Thinking about booking a Rotterdam 30 night Tahiti/Hawaii cruise, and wondering how many formal nights?

As a rule of thumb (with some exceptions), HAL usually has two formal nights per week.
Happy you came out from lurking. :)

So, 8, (or maybe even NINE) formal nights for a 30 night cruise?
Sounds like a LOT of formal nights...:o

This year on the Rotterdam (Mar - Apr) on the 33 day Hawaii/South Pacific cruise our documents showed 9 formal nights but we ended up having 7 -- I would think you would have about the same number (7) on the 30 day cruise.

I agree with the 8, maybe 7 estimate; not 9. I have taken many cruises in the 32-35 day range, and have never had more than 8 formal nights in that time frame.

Can someone give me a link to HAL's web page that will show me the answer to this question?
(btw...thanks for the answers so far.)

The answer for your cruise will be in your documents, which you can access about 50 days before sailing. Everything else is educated guesses. It will not be in HAL's website.

I have to agree -- count on at least 7 or 8 formal nights.
We have had 6 formal nights on a 21 day cruise.
