Thanks for the heads up. Looks like a much friendlier and easier to use version.

Perhaps it's better in some ways that I can't see. It looks like loads of other forums that are around, but I don't particularly like the look-and-feel.

Really? Easier?? What could be easier than this??? I agree with previous poster that it looks like everyone else's... :(

I apologize . . it was an "announcement" not a sticky . . .

Laura,

I'd love to know why the switch . . . the original seems to work well with larger fonts and bold print. I'm not 15 (or 50) any more and the old type is easier to read.

Just curious . . .

Peggy

Thank you for the explanation. . . . I located it and find it "interesting".

I guess I'll adapt to whatever they throw at me, but I really don't like change just for the sake of change. Like Wendy, I didn't see any real advantage. Maybe I didn't fool around enough with it.

Typing from my new smartphone. I'm now guessing that it's an optimization for mobile content.

I hope that does not mean we'll have to see "sent from my Blackberry" on every other post!;)

A few years back all the posts were lost because of a version change. I hope that won't happen with the changeover.

Yeah, I remember that Kathy. Ditto!

Well, after some brief poking around the other site, I have to say that I don't like the look or feel of it at all.

I would like to suggest that you take a poll and see how your members like it before making the commitment to such a radical change. :)

Okay, I've looked it over again (I used to use that board, but it's got such a low posting volume that it's not very useful). But the forum look and feel itself doesn't seem so bad to me now. It's load better than Fodor's, which has lots of information available, high posting volume, but bad forum software.
