I am trying to figure out if Disney gives upgrade preferences to those who book through them. For those of you who have had upgrades in the past... could you tell me where you booked your cruise? Any info would be appreciated.

We got an upgrade from 11 to 10 last year, we had booked through a travel agency

We book through DVC & we were upgraded from an 8 to 6 for our May 2004 cruise! We found out the night before the cruise we were upgraded.

We were staying at OKW & there was a message on the phone when we got back from the park. It said that we had been upgraded to a cat 6. One of the best phone calls we've ever got!

That's the big secret.
In the years that I've been on these boards, I've never been able to detect a pattern.
I think that the only things that may help you is if you book a category rather than a specific stateroom and if you cruise in the off-season.

I was upgrade from a cat 9 to a cat 6 on our 8/04 3day Wonder. I booked through a travel agency.

We were upgraded from a Cat 6 to a Cat 4 - booked through a travel agency. Found out when we checked in.
