View Full Version : Rotterdam Vanity Question

We found the Zuiderdam vanity (in the bedroom area) had 2 shelves instead of drawers -- very difficult to keep your cosmetics, combs, brushes, etc. or even jewelry on the shelf and easily retrieve the items when needed. Can anyone tell me if the Rotterdam, being a little older, has the usual drawers or if it, too, has shelves only.

If it's shelves -- then I'll bring some small boxes in which to keep things that would roll around.

This would be for a larger inside cabin.

Your help would be appreciated.

Thanks -- Happy Cruiser!!

Drawers it is (or is it they are?).

you were considering but, in the A and B cabins, there are 9 deep drawers surrounding the vanity / dresser area, plus many shelves and 2 spacious night tables with locking drawers.
The "S" suites have a separate dressing area with 3 deep drawers and a small cabinet area apart from the large dressers under the windows and the very spacious night tables.

I've never been in other cabins but the C's and D's etc should be similiar to the B's.

Rather than bringing boxes, consider bringing a few large zip lock bags. It would keep all your things together and easy to get to. Even if there are drawers, you might want to leave some things in the zip locks anyway.

I second S7S suggestion. I always have my jewelry and makeup packed in ziplock bags. I can see which glittery things go in the safe, and which are lookalikes. My makeup stays put and any emrgency nail stuff doesn't dump.
However, the best reason for the zippies is that airport security can examine your carryon and luggage without the risk of having makeup spill and ruin you carefully packed clothes!

Thanks for the messages and help.

I always do pack things in zip loc bags, but I have a bad back and it is much easier for me to pull a box out from a shelf when I am sitting at the vanity, than to have to search for the "right" zip loc. I need to organize my things as best for my situation. Appreciate your thought.

On the Zuiderdam some of my items, even in zip locs, rolled to the back of the shelf by the vanity, and for me it was hard to retrieve. Hate to always ask hubby to come to my rescue.
