Hi, Well I am back here in beautiful San Diego to see DH. They actually gave him today off so we are both going down to the pier. I see by the web cam http://live6.truelook.com/face/newface.jsp?func=0&name=/ecodb/sandiego/oneamerica2&pan=-101.48572&tilt=-12.994281&panfov=19.214195&tiltfov=14.976375&overlay=default&skin=default&useapplet=true&time=1079709536699&width=640&height=480&quality=60 that the Oosterdam has the left position. Unfortunately I don't think I will get as good of pictures as I did 2 weeks ago. I will try to meet up with Greg to get some pictures and I will post them tomorrow night when I get home.
If I was not cruising in 5 weeks I would be more upset seeing people board and not boarding myself, but it wont be long now.:)

Looks like they're doing some maintenance on the starboard side (or loading stuff from a barge!). I do miss her already :(

Dave - I zoomed in on the picture and it looks like a crane - can't figure out what they are doing but they aren't loading goods - there's a little boat beside it with what looks like a BIG yellow hose - maybe they're washing the windows.....who knows. If I find out, will let you know.

OK - I found out what it was. :D Anyone want to take a guess, before I reveal the secret? ;) Dave- we were both way off base with this one.

You got it! :D
This is the message I got from the ship: "It's the refuelling barge , 980 metric tons of fuel to get us to Mexico and back! The crane holds the hose as it is like 6" in diameter!

Hi All, Well I am now back to the hotel after a great day out. I did get to meet up with Rev Neal and will post pictures tomorrow. Tom and I had dinner at Anthony's and expected to watch her sail away at 5 PM. We were already seated in Anthonys. Thru my Zoom lense it looked like Greg was the Upper Verrandah Deck just above the bow, so I left Anthony's (our entree had not yet arrived) and jogged down to the ship. Sure enough he was out there so I got some great pictures of him out there. I will get them uploaded tomorrow night and post them. Unknown why but the Oosterdam did not leave on time, she did not leave till about 6:38 so it was a lot darker but did make it look really neat all lit up. We will see how my night pictures turned out. He drove over to Harbor Island this afternoon and was able to take pictures of her from a different angle.

Thanks for checking Esme!
Lisa -
Probably Vic & Greg caused a disturbance so you could have dessert before the ship left....

Lisa, if you have to spend a time at a Port to be with your DH, S.D. is a nice one to do that. Also looking forward to your pictures! :) Do you know if the whales will be there when we cruise in October?

Lived in San Diego many years ago, brother still in Escondido so follow the SD threads with interest! Looking forward to your pictures. Remember Anthony's, think that's where we went to dinner for the prom, oh so long ago!
