We've done several cruises stopping at Cabo and haven't done anything other than walking around the pier. We are thinking of taking a water taxi over to the beach at the Cabo rock formations. There are always fellows at the pier offering rides and I'm wondering if anyone has gone with them. Thanks.

We've done it once (sort of) - we took a boat out to the formations but paid a little more to the guy to stay with us on the beach so that when we were ready to return he'd be there. Otherwize I believe you wait for a taxi to put-put around looking for passengers to head back to the pier - im sure this is fine but Im too much of a worry wart about getting back to the ship on time. Its a beautiful beach by the way.

Nice walk between beaches...

We did this and got the driver to leave us at a beach I think was called "Lover's beach". We walked between this beach and the other one... We asked the taxi boat driver to come back in an hour and he did.

If you do this, take some drinks with you, as there was none available when we were there...

We always take the water taxi over to the beach then sit at one of the hotels on the sand and drink margaritas :D! As you walk from the tender towards the city on the pier, people are always shouting at you to take their taxi. You can always talk them down to a good price if you are patient, because there are so many water taxis fighting for your business. To get back to the areas where the tenders leave, you can just walk up the beach and within 5 to 10 minutes you will find a water taxi willing to take you back. Sometimes we have paid for a round trip taxi ride from the pier to the beach and back. The water taxis make so many frequent trips that it is easy to catch the boat for the ride back. We have never had any concern about getting a taxi as they are plentiful. We spend about 10 to 20 dollars for both, round trip. Hope that helps!

On the beach, there are plenty of hotels with a little piece of private beach where you can have drinks, good food, or walk the 100 yards for a quick swim in the ocean. If you want more of a thrill, you can rent a jetski! Have fun!
