Hi,
We are on Dubai-Dubai cruise in a few weeks-3rd January
Visiting Bahrain,Abu Dhabi & Oman
Do all these countries accept the Aeu Dirham?
The reason for my question is that both Bahrain and Oman have their own currency.
Look forward to hearing from any previous visitors.

Bill, I am not sure the answer to your question so hopefull someone else can answer the specific question you have.

We visited all of these places earlier this year.

I realize you are from Scotland. We didn't need to use local currency in these countries. We used USA currency for our purchases. I suspect you could use British Pounds and that way you would avoid exchanging currency.

I used USD in Oman and Dubai. In the latter, the local restaurant said that they could take only $10 or $20 bills which I had. They ran the bills thru a strip-reading machine to confirm authenticity. The Al-Bustani Palace in Muscat accepted my US credit card without the blink of an eye.

As far as using your GDP from beautiful Scotland, I cannot speak to that. But personally, I wouldn't worry about converting into dirhams.
