Hello,
I am looking for dailey that someone may have posted. My husband and I want to get an idea of the activities that are offered on the ship.

Thank you!

Sorry but I didn't save any from my Jan 05 trip. I thought they had all the usuall cruise things: Daily quiz; team trivia; build a ship ; cooking demo; bingo; passenger show; ping pong; shuffle board; bridge; shopping; ,movies; etc. Anything inparticular you are looking for?

Does the ship still have the wooden horse races. Also do they still auction off the horses for the final race?

I know just what you are talking about. Years ago I recall the fun, wooden horse racing. However, I did not see anything like that on the recent Maasdam.

Thank you for the reply. I think you answered my question. I was just wondering if they had plenty of activities, and it sounds as if they do.

I have been on 1 other cruise, not on Hal. I really don't know enough about cruising yet to know what is standard or if certain lines do certain activities.
I can hardly wait! :D

Haven't seen horse racing in years. Wasn't it fun! :)

I was on only one cruise where there was an "owner's race". My husband purchased a horse; we decorated it together, then we had to take it around the ship with us to drum up enthusiasm for the race. Even joined us at dinner, IIRC! Had it for several days beforehand.
Storing the thing was not an easy! We had a teeny-tiny inside cabin on the old Rotterdam. If you told me the cabin was 6'X8' plus bathroom, I'd believe you. Kept the horse in the shower.

I never bought one of those horses, but I always would bet on them. They used to have it right before bingo. Back in '86 on the Noordam, my grandmother won like 500+ on the worst bingo card. THey had called like 25 numbers and she never got one of them. I remember the Old Rotterdam. Last time i saw it was in Alaska. When the Noordam and Nieuw Amsterdam first launched, they were beauties werent they?
