Suggestions for selecting suite on Veendam

We may be trying to upgrade our room to a deluxe suite on the Veendam because our son has decided to join us. It appears only the deluxe veranda suites hold 4 people. What would be the best room location? We would like to minimize the likelihood of smoke from adjoining balconies and noise from the deck above. Also how usable is the verandah while the ship is underway? We sail June 5th to Bermuda. We also have never tried a suite before;) Thanks!

On the S class ships -- we book as far forward as we can -- usually 002, 004, or 006 -- they are under the beauty salon.

It really depends on how rough the seas are and the winds weather you will be able to use the verandah on sea days.
