This may be redundant as I did not read previous posts. I found the cruise on the Nieuw Amsterdam great. Cabin steward great, very efficient and timely. Service throughout ship was very good. Food was excellent in Pinnacle, Tamarind (pace yourself as the food keeps on coming), and with the main dining room we never had to wait, if you were willing to sit with others. The ship was near capacity and we missed the first two ports of call due to wind and high sea's, would have been dangerous for the passengers to tender as they would have been bounced around. The captain made the right call as these first two ports are pretty wide open to the sea. They did offer complimentary wine at the dinners and at the end of the cruise a 15% discount for future cruises. The buffet was crowded at times depending when you ate, food was great. Entertainment was good, especially the male singers, and magician. Stage production very professional, I would have picked different songs to produce but everyone has there own tastes, probably the shows are put together by professional agencies on-shore. I know there have been varied reviews about this ship, but I would not hesitate to recommend this ship, it does cater to the senior crowd so if you have young children you may wish to consider this though they do have activities for all ages. I must say the crew was pretty good at accommodating last minute changes to the shipboard schedule due to missed ports and extended sailing time. I would sail this ship again without hesitation.
