I'm booked on the Amazon Explorer cruise in November 2012. If any CC members have been on this particular cruise, can you tell me if you had special lecturers on board, e.g. naturalists, historians? We had a great marine biologist on board the Noordam's Fall transatlantic crossing last year, and I'm hoping there will be a lecture series on the Prinsendam. The same goes for the Rotterdam Secret Civilizations cruise I'm booked on this coming April. Thanks. Any input will be appreciated.

Also, if interested, go to the Picasa link below my signature and scroll down on the Picasa site until you find the 2008 Amazon cruise and you will see some pix of the ship and the various ports for the itinerary in question.

Thank you, PrescottBob. Your review was exactly what I was hoping for. I look forward to enrichment seminars (In fact, in the "good old days" HAL's brochures would announce the presenters of such programs and I enjoyed them so much.) and glad you had those programs on board the Prinsendam for the Amazon Explorer route. I'm more interested in a classic ship than I am in "glitz," and this will remind me of some of my early cruising experiences.
