Soda... are stickers still needed?

About a week ago someone responded to me that soda was now free on deck 9 of the Magic's seven day cruise. I received my documentation yesterday which states that each passenger still needs to buy a sticker to put on their Key to World Card. Could anyone who just got off the ship clarify this for me? Thanks.

Deck 9 soda/coffee/etc station is open 24 hours and self serve. No sticker is necessary. They have cups, lids, sugar, cream, etc all ready for you. Just outside BBB on the pool deck. Bill
