In the past Fred. Olsen ships regularly made a cruise "Round Africa". Two years ago the "Balmoral" world cruise took the Northerly route calling at such places as Singapore, Vietnam, China, South Korea, Japan, Alaska, Western Canada and California USA. Both cruises were superb. I hope they will be repeated. I wonder if other agree and what would they suggest as alternative destinations?:)

Didn't they stop this because on World Cruise 2009 Balmoral was chased by pirates doing this route?

I agree with you it seems a great pity but safety is paramount.

Hi Parsman, in reply to your post, in early 2013 we are looking into the possibility of a cruise incorporating Around Africa which may include some Indian ocean islands - but nothing is confirmed as yet.

With regards to the Northern itinerary, this is much more difficult to schedule and wouldn't be on the horizon much before 2014. We hope to welcome you back on board in the not to distance future!
