NorthWales Couple posted recently that their flight time out of Cuba to Manchester on 27th has changed. We have just received a new booklet of tickets through the post - with no covering letter. I wondered whether it might have to do with flight times after NWC's post so checked that out and yes, our departure time has also been changed - only by 45 minutes (that's to Gatwick).
I might just have thought it was a duplicate set sent out in error and never noticed the flight times were different. So it might be worth others checking out flight times as it could perhaps have implications for travel arrangements on 28th.

I am fuming we got new booklet too with different return times phoned Thomson and they deny it even though I have a 45 minute earlier time on all other paperwork! They say new time is and has always that! Gggrrr we have just had to pay £170 to change our return flights back to guernsey because of their mistake to say I'm not happy is an understatement but Thomson deny any difference in times

Well I've got the original ticket booklet too. Time in booklet No. 1 is 17.05 pm Havana departure - in booklet No 2 its 17.50. How can they possibly deny there's been a change???????? I'd try to push this one further. You (and I) have documentary evidence!
P.S. And how many people will just wonder why they've got a second set of tickets and not check carefully for any anomalies?! No wonder they didn't send out a covering letter - they may have to admit some error/liability! Just send the info out and hope for the best - no-one notices until it's too late! As you say jbis Grrrrrrrr.......... :(

Kruzseeka thank you and I am going to push this but find it so difficult when no one admitting anything but I will persevere

jbis, I'm with you, and I would push as far as possible especially as you've got documentary evidence to show the initial leaving time. My only concern would be that there will be some small print that says that flight times can be changed....... Good luck though, the whole company's communication network seems to be riddled with half truths and downright lies. Shameful. Good luck with the claim!

And this is the great pity of it all. Apart from the current well documented problems on the Dream (and I'm not minimising them - I've still to discover how bad they are yet!! :D) this is where Thomson let their ships down.
In our experience once on board the whole 'product' is great (as I say present exemption - the Dream although I think it will be eventually - they just about got there prior to the Hamburg refit) but the admin/communications side all too frequently causes their customers problems. It's time someone with some clout looked at the many issues which have cropped up in say, the last year, and developed a strategy for dealing with problems that keeps their customers in the loop and gives them a feeling of being valued. Once on board the staff certainly make you feel valued - we could do with the same ethos percolating through to the upper eschelons!

I agree Kruzseeka, because of the lies and half truths, even when Thomson do send out info, the customers look at it with mistrust, and draw their own conclusion of what is really happening (usually multiplying the problems in the information by two!!)
Half the problems and frustration that people are experiencing comes from the fact that they've been lied to and that Thomson have tried to make light of problems that have genuinely ruined a hard-earned holiday ignoring letters and mails, and then just trying to bat back when they do respond.
They need to dismantle their PR/Customer relations departments and start from scratch. (As well as fix the ship!!)

Back by 45 minutes - we're hoping we will still have enough time to get our booked National Express coach at Gatwick - but will have to wait for a later one if not - with an admin charge of course although in the scheme of things this is negligible. At least at the airport National Express are a bit more forgiving. Fairly minor problem and nothing as problematic as jbis has with connecting flights - that's on a different scale altogether.

We flew back from La Romana on Sunday 2nd January. The plane we were due out on didn't actually land until 10 minutes before our scheduled departure time, so obviously we were going to be late taking off. Our flight eventually took off two hours late and we landed at Manchester the following morning two hours later than expected.
We did however at least have a direct flight; the other three flights out of La Romana that evening (two to Gatwick and one to Birmingham) had to make a refuelling stop in Jamaica on the way (there was a shortage of aviation fuel on the Dominican Republic) and we were told they could expect to be delayed for up to two hours on the runway there.
None of us knew any of this until we arrived at the airport, and the problems were outside Thomson's control anyway. If you have to make travel connections in the U.K. on your return, with respect you need to factor a considerable degree of flexibility into your timings.

Carol I agree with you but have always got in on time and ended up sat in gatwick for hours freezing tired stuck with luggage and with kids! This is always the point everyone starts arguing too! So this time I thought to save all the stress I would book us on earlier flight and yes I did know there could be delays but that can't be helped it was a risk I was prepared to take but this time change is not for any reason and to make it worse Thomson deny it has even changed as I was talking to Thomson on phone he kept insisting my paperwork sat in front of me could not and did not say an earlier time!
