Is anynone else having difficulty accessing the site?
Depending on which way I approach it, I either get an error message or a down for maintenance message. It's been over 12 hours now and, of course, today was the first day we could book excursions for our Baltic cruise on Voyager in July.

No problem accessing the site. Do you have weather issues where you live? Hope you will be able to book your excursions soon!

I just tried and it works fine. For a moment I thought maybe they were loading 2012, but no such luck!

I've been trying since late last night and all morning....still says it's down. Don't understand why it's working for some and not others.

This is very strange, indeed. No weather issues here. My normal bookmark gives me an error message. If I google Regent and try to access the site through there, I get the we are down for maintenance message. Hmm.

JCMH, I was having exactly the same problem but when others said they could access the site, I rebooted my computer and all was then well. All excursions successfully booked for our July 8th cruise. We booked St. Petersburg ones even though we are currently exploring a private tour. Our logic is that these are ones that would fill up fast and it is better to have them booked and cancel them once we decide on the private tour or not.

Just got on without rebooting. I was disappointed that on the 10th I could only do one tour. The morning ones end at 1:30 and the afternoon ones start at 2. Someone had mentioned that there has to be an hour between tours. If that's the case why did they schedule it this way. It limits what you're able to see. I understand why people do private tours.

It's such a port intensive cruise that we are quite happy to do just one tour per day, although on the 10th, we have booked the 8 1/2 hour Classical St. Petersburg tour. Apart from Russia where a visa is necessary if venturing out on one's own, our logic is that after a tour we can choose whether to explore on our own a bit or return to the ship.

You cannot walkabout in St. P on your own unless you get your own visa. Regent or the tour operators have special touring visas so you can go with your guides. You cannot be free to roam around alone.

In our experience, Russian immigration checked visas when we reboarded the ship from excursions. That was several years ago - perhaps they or more or less stringent nowadays. But I wouldn't take a chance.

I think that ChatKat in Ca misunderstood me in that I do know that one cannot explore St. Petersburg on one's own without having applied and obtained an individual visa. With the tour companies and the ship's tours this is not a problem. What I was saying was that everywhere else but St. Petersburg, we were taking one tour per day as we wanted the option to explore further on our own if we felt so inclined.

They were checking on our trip 3 years ago. You definitely shouldn't try to leave the ship's tour in St. Petersburg unless you have an individual visa.
