Just wondering if any of my fellow Canadian Cruisers have figured out which sailings are actually available on the recently announced Airfare Sale? (here is the direct link http://ebm.cheetahmail.com/c/tag/hBNNj7uA8NffUB8XeYwDvxWstOF/doc.html?t_params=I_STAR_LEVEL%3D0%26EMAIL%3Dtordo n%2540sympatico.ca%26FNAME%3DRick%26LNAME%3DTordon %26MARINER_ID%3D253431217)

I called to find out but it seems they need to look by cruise. After choosing 3 cruises (in August) and finding out that none qualified for the promotion I figured it might be better to check with the experts on here.

The airfare offered is $599 (from Toronto) and is certainly an incentive to move forward with my summer cruise plans. I'm primarily looking at a Northern european cruise.

Hey Rick,

I live just west of Toronto.

I often have luck with Canadian Affair if flying to UK.

Air Canada and West Jet rates are typically better if you book on a wednesday.

The taxes kill you. I often see if there is a cheaper flight out of Buffalo (even though its often a connecting flight - you stay on the same plane and pick up passengers along the way) check delta, USAirways and Southwest for rates. Finally, I search expedia.com (NOT expedia.ca) for rates as they often point me to good deals (then I book direct with carrier.

Hope these tips help.;)

I have flown 3 times to London Gatwick on Air Transat in the last 4 years. Each time the fare was cheaper than Air Canada flying to Heathrow. I have never flown on Canadian Affair but I think it also flies into Gatwick.

Where do you think your departure port will be?

The real question for me: Does this price include all taxes and fees? We see low prices advertised all the time but when we read the fine print we always find that the taxes and fees can add it to more than the advertised cost of the flight.

Advertised prices never include taxes. I have gotten final price quotes using either the main websites for AC or Transat or Expedia (the Canadian one). The Air Transat website has a grid for the flying dates so you can try to match the lowest price based on departure and return dates. Once I get the right combination, then I use the Expedia site to book because it gives me extra Air Mile points on the Expedia site. The final price is the same whether I book directly on Air Transat or Expedia

Air Transat flies only the red eye to London whereas Air Canada does have one morning flight.

and, if you do want to fly AC, then go on the website and play for the flight for the ports you are interested in to see what the real deal is.

then you can pick your cruise and if you like to book your flights through HAL, you can do so.

If you are going 'in season', definitely check Air Transat. Their club class if fairly nice and you may find it cheaper than AC's economy.

worth a look.

Have your TA check with a consolidator to see if they can get you a cheaper fare. ;)

The real question for me: Does this price include all taxes and fees? No, the HAL air sale is not inclusive of taxes. Here's the fine print:
Airfare offer based on Promo RZ and is only applicable with Promo(s) LI, LG & RH and is not combinable with any other fares, promotions or for 3rd/4th or 5th passengers. Fares are in Canadian dollars. All savings amounts are included in fares shown. Taxes are additional and range from CAD 58.36 to CAD 386.44. Subject to availability.
