Hi,
There are indeed both an American & a European socket, however there are no tea & coffee making facilities & travel kettles are not permitted in the cabins, neither are irons - apparently they are both a fire risk! Can't understand though why on P&O both are provided?? Perhaps Thomson ships are more likely to catch fire

Many thanks to JoJo and Jim the Scot for their replies.
I find it hard to understand the rules for this on the Dream - as you say OV and P & O don't have a problem - unfortunately I can't remember whether they were available on the Spirit or Celebration - so long ago!!

What about on the Destiny going from the Dom Rep? Is there tea/coffee making, is there a hairdryer, and can you consume your own duty free drinks in your cabin (only Baileys and Whisky and any bought shoreside in aport)Also which plug adaptors do you need?

no tea/coffee making in your cabin but they are available from the buffet, take a travel mug if you like your morning cuppa. The unnamed tea bags are PG tips so no danger of the dreaded Liptons yellow label. I believe you can drink your duty frees in your cabin and just ask the steward to fill the ice bucket. There is a hairdryer in the cabin. The electrical trickery is american style 110V ac, both round and flat plugs. I bought a cheap adaptor at Tescos that does the whole world.
