I too noticed the great new photos. I can't wait to see the new changes for myself on the Ryndam in about 33 days. Doone, don't you leave soon as well?

Doone,
I'm so excited for you. Isn't this your first taste of the "suite" life?:D The new pictures make everything look so fresh and inviting. It should be great fun. I also think that the new pictures give a better representation of the different categories.

Sage, you have such a good memory, yes, Zuiderdam with my friends will be the first taste of the suite life for me. Then I board the Volendam in steerage, from luxury to inside cabin, but that's ok, I have always been very happy that way, the suite is a bonus.
Thanks for the well wishes, we're going to have a great time.

Beautiful stateroom pictures. I sure hope they change the notation on inside staterooms where it says Cat. HH has a fully obstructed view! Maybe this is a new SOE enhancement--inside staterooms with a view!!

Now I wish they'd show us the new deck plans!

:D THAT SUITE PHOTO WAS our cabin.
When we were aboard, all the Suites were occupied but they needed a suite for new photos. We were happy to have them use ours for the brief time necessary.
The photographer and his assistant were incredibly nice people. We chatted with them while waiting for the sun to get just the shading he wanted nearing sunset.
(He had us put a small personal item on the bureau so we would know for sure that was our cabin when we saw the pictures.) Of course, it photographed itty bitty!!! :)
He has photographed well over a hundred ships....Alot of his work is in a very well known magazine.
What Fun!!! Given the amount of time we have slept in the "dam 'S' Suites", it really is now OUR Suite in the brochures and on the HAL Site.

OK Dum Me what is SOE
It is Signature of Excellence. Improvements that HAL is making on all the ships.

Too bad the public areas are still represented by sketches that were done before the Zaandam was even launched!!

Allright, so I'm curious to know...what was the item?
How fun is that though? If it were my cabin...my dh would kill someone because EVERYTIME I would open up a brochure and see "our" cabin in the photo I'd have to make a deal out of it and that would drive him CRAZY :p .

OK Dum Me what is SOEBlackbird,
Here's a link (http://www.hollandamerica.com/signatureofexcellence/signatureofexcellence.do) to the HAL website, discussing the SOE program.

I went to the picture for the deluxe verandah suite to see if I could figure out which item belongs to S7S. When I brought up the larger photo I noticed that it was the mirror image of the photo on the webpage. Wonder why they do that.
BTW, my money is on the binoculars, although they're not that itty bitty in the picture.:)

S7S--
You keep such a tidy suite!
Where's the luggage & evening gowns and furs, etc?;)
It's amazing how some new bedding and good lighting make those staterooms look so open and roomy - like you just want to move in for 109 days or so...

:D Brian........
Luggage is under the bed; gowns are stowed in the closet......No furs!!! :)
Whaddaya mean 109 days....we've been in that Cabin for over 40 cruises.
No World Cruise for us....in the foreseeable future.
Tidy.....Yes, I do like to keep things neat. I figure DH has paid a bunch of dollars to put us in that pretty cabin. The least I can do is keep it neat so we can really enjoy it. ;)

Photo looks identical to the photo that's been on the website for quite some time of the update cabins on the Ryndam. I just assumed they had copied that photo over to the Zaandam?? What ship were you on when they took the photo?
I'd also guess the personal item is the photo between the bowl of fruit and the plant in the corner. Or, what is the flat black box-looking thing on the corner next to the potted plant? (edge of the dresser next to the bed) ??
