Does anyone know if Silversea have addressed the problem of fixed head showers and no real space for toiletries etc. in the bathrooms of Silver Wind? If not, are they intending to do so?

Can't remember from our stay onboard last June... We'll be there in a week though for the CPT cruise, and will try to look. Remember the bathroom being a bit small, but we were in the lowest category last June. We're in a balcony suite this time...:)

Yes.....a real one, not like the warm air blowers that are fixed to the walls;)

You're welcome:D
It's in one of the drawers in the walk-in wardrobe/closet. I usually move it to one of the cupboards in the the dressing table area.:p

But how about the shower fixture - is it still fixed head or have they been sensible and replaced them with flexible heads?

Our Silversea cruise consultant mentioned the Wind is going into "dry dock", or maybe that's a "wet dock", in April. I know from reading here and other places she went through a major dry dock in 2008. Any idea what they're doing next month?

It was during the 2008 dry dock that the bathrooms were refurbished with the fixed head showers.

Isn't the Wind the sister ship to the Cloud? I have only been on the Cloud but the mirror had shelves behind it to put my toiletries. Doesn't the Wind have the same?

The Wind and the Cloud were the same but the Wind is very different since it's refurbishment in 2008. It was then that the bathrooms were re-designed, reducing cupboard and shelf space as well as new showers with fixed heads. The Cloud was due to be refurbished on along similar lines in 2009 but this was cancelled.

It's been a while so I certainly can't depend on my memory, but I did an overnight on the Spirit last year and thought the shower was a fixed head? It was fantastic ... the best shower on a ship I have ever experienced. Hoping they change all the bathrooms to this design. My shower on the Cloud was the one thing I did not care for, mostly because the water temp kept changing, plus when I would go to turn it on, the head would be turned in a peculiar way either wetting me or the mirror. It took me almost the entire cruise to remember to check the position of the shower head before turning on the water. I opted for baths instead. :D

The Spirit has a separate shower compartment and it has both a fixed head and a flexible shower - thus appealing to all tastes.

Agree with u Older Party. I either scalded myself or had a cold shower. After 17 days on the Cloud, I couldn't get it right. Give me the Spirit shower any day.

Cheers

Any tips on a decent shower experience on the Cloud? DH loves his showers and changing temps...oh no. Did you pick up anything from experience you could share? Thanks!

Space for toiletries is limited, but it was OK for us. Could have used a closet under the sink but the shelf there was OK. Don't remember the shower head being a problem.
