Last night I pre-booked Tamarind and Pinnacle Grill reservations for March sailing on Nieuw Amsterdam.
The credit card billing posted correctly on HAL's confirmation.
I then went to "My Custom Itinerary" and discovered that two reservations for eight guests each were listed for each evening (instead of the reservation for four guests each evening that I had made).
I called Guest Services this morning, and they confirmed that they had "an IT problem" and were in the process of correcting it. The representative said their computer had had numerous instances of triple-and quadruple booking of shipboard reservations. She said it should be resolved within in a day or two. I plan to re-check the custom itinerary in a couple of days to make sure.
I'm not really too concerned about charges, because the credit card charging information they quoted was accurate.
I can see, however, how this might create havoc with the ship's reservation system if numerous reservations have been triple- or quadruple-booked.
I'll post a follow-up in a couple of days to confirm whether the numbers have been corrected.
