Traveling on the Cloud in August -- is it possible to make reservations in Le Champagne prior to embarking? If so, how far in advance can they be made - I know other lines (e.g. Regent) allow you to reserve at a certain number of days out...have yet to find whether this exists on Silversea and keep forgetting to ask my TA.

Thanks so much!
Maggie

At least in October, no advance reseravations were possible ("you'll be able to do that on-line soon") but, as other threads note, you can save $50 off the $200/pp full wine-paired dinner option in Le Champagne by buying it as a bon voyage gift to yourself. That worked as advertised for us and the dinner was memorable, at least once.

We are on the Cloud most of August.Make reservation with Maitre d when you are onboard.Never a problem to reserve in La C.Each evening is themed to the cuisine for an area of the world and this will be available on board to assist your choice of evening.Enjoy.

We have been on only one Silversea cruise. That cruise had a $500 OBC. It was not easy to get reservations in Le Champagne -- probably due to passengers using their OBC. It makes sense that reservations would be easier on cruises where passengers do not have the extra money to spend.

If you make reservations as soon as you board it should not be a problem.

Agree with the other posters that you should make a reservation once you get on the ship. One key reason is that you want to pick your exact type of menu for that particular evening. When on the wonderful Silver Cloud last summer, there were five different menu options that would vary during the course of the cruise. We did "Best of Burgundy" from France. There was another France dining option, plus nights where it could also be either Italy, Spain or American, as I re-call. In most cases, they have lots of flexibility on timing and schedules. Below are a couple of visuals for dining in that great room with wonderful service.

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Here’s an overview of the setting for the Le Champagne dinner. It is a roomy setting for a small group of only sixteen people this evening. There are five different menu options, two from France, one from Italy, one from Spain and one from America with wines paired for each different course. For this evening, our theme was “Best of Burgundy”.:

The first course has these various bite-sized “Tastes of Burgundy” as a “light”, opening sampler when doing the Le Champagne dinner. The cone-shape items were a fois gras blend where each at our table got one of these treats.:

Here is the spectacular dessert, called Chocolate Eiffel Tower. One person at our table, not me, as they say . . . “ate the WHOLE THING!”. Very rich and great looking.:

If you make a reservation prior to sailing, can you still choose the night? More specifically, could we reserve for, say, Tuesday at the discounted rate pre-sailing, but once on board, change it to Friday (for example) if we preferred that menu?

Yes, by using the SS online gift you will receive a nice LC invitation good for dinner for two placed in your suite as you board. Recommend, u take this to the LC Maitre'D the afternoon you board, peruse the available LC menu choices and simply reserve the night you like best.
