Has anyone seen the NEW HAL Brochure called Discover Holland America with Tag Readers

I was wondering if anyone has seen the new HAL brochure that is called Discover Holland America, in the brochure it has no itineraries, no ship names. Just about HAL and what to expect cruising on a Holland America ship but what this new brochure does have is Tag Readers. Now of the non techies what this is if you have a Smart Phone, Iphone, Droid or Blackberry there is an app to download from Microsoft (so not sure Iphone can do this :confused: )and on every few pages your phone can scan the little scare and it will upload a video. The first time I tried it at worked, it worked perfectly. I was so excited I had a new toy to play with to watch videos of on board the ships of HAL but when I got home and ever since when ever I tag it the video starts the freezes up after about 5 seconds into the video.

I am not sure if I need to remove my Tag Reader from my phone and maybe upload it again. The App for the Tag Reader is a free App at least with by Android.

Hi Lisa, I just picked up one of their specific brochures and it also had the tag reader in it. so I think this is the 'new thing'. I don't claim to be a tech genius but when something freezes repeatedly or doesn't work , the first thing I do is remove the programme and upload it again.

No guarantees - but it doesn't hurt to try and, for me, it usually works.

Tried that and it still does the same thing :confused:
I did view the different videos on the websites that the tags do go to on the phone thinking that maybe it was the web site http://www.explorehal.com/onboard when you go here you can also view some of the others they have available. The videos on the web site are fine and do not freeze up.

Yes I've seen it and it does work.
It's the same videos that are on the web-site. Nothing new.

The tags take you to HAL's video web-site where a video plays of that specific page.

You can get the same video's from the web-site directly.

I'm assuming that if you have an iPhone, you can use the barcode scanner app. I know that if you're in the supermarket, for instance, you can use the scanner on the iPhone to get product and pricing information. When I get the brochure, I'll check it out. :)

Pam actually I have both on my phone, the Bar Code reader will not read the square tags as well as the Tag Reader does not read the bar codes.
