I have read that you can now reserve a cabana on HMC way in advance of your cruise. Is this reserved through ship services or through shore excursions? How far in advance can they be reserved? How far in advance do they need to be reserved to get one? We're sailing on Zuiderdan on October 8th. According to cruisecal.com, we're the only ship there that day. We just gotta have a cabana. Reserving in advance sure beats rushing to the Neptune to try to get one booked when you embark.

Thanks for the help.

I booked mine in April 2004 for my cruise next month so that will give you some idea of how far in advance you can go. I think I booked it with Ship Services but since then I believe things have been passed off to the Shore Excursions people. Good luck! :)

Our TA did everything for us. It is a must repeat, for we were treated like Royalty! For us, at least, it was well worth the extra cost.

There was never a question as to whether or not we would reserve one. As far as we're concerned, its a requirement and well worth the money. We have used them on our 2 previous cruises. Since they are now available to all pax, not just suite pax, we want to make sure we reserve it well ahead of time.

Thanks for the response.

If you go to the shore excursions sections for your booking on the HAL website you will be able to book it online. If bookings have not opened for your particular sailing yet then you will not be able to book. It is that simple now. Ship Services no longer handles bookings, only Shorex handles now.

I tried calling Friday to reserve one for our July 23rd cruise. They said it was too early and to call back March 1 to see if they were accepting reservations yet. I called the excursion dept. and not ship services.
