Port or Starboard on Eastern Caribbean

Anybody have any input on which side is best for your veranda cabin. When we did the Panama canal a few years back - San Diego to Fort Lauderdale, there was definitely an advantage in being on the Port Side.

I know it doesn't matter that much, but I'm interested if anybody has any views.

On the Westerdam, we were on starboard side and had views instead of ships when we docked in Nassau & Tortola. We tendered into Phillipsburg & HMC.
