I am sending this from our veranda, waiting for the ship to leave Tampa. The Captain announced that he was holding the ship for three passengers that were coming from the airport---which I thought was a courteous thing to do. Looks like they made it because we have just started to move.

I do have one question, at our muster drill, they did not call cabin numbers. Is that the usual procedure?

The new procedure involves the crew checking staterooms and open areas for passengers and they do not call cabin numbers. I've seen people coming 'late' soaking wet from the pool -- so apparently the new method finds everyone.

Bon Voyage!

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone!

Bumped into Mama Lou after dinner in the casino and invited her to the Meet & Mingle tomorrow. She's delightful and 87 years young! My husband took a photo, but I'll have to post it after we get home.

Greetings from Key West! Great night's sleep last night! David and I agree the bed is better than Crystal's. Room service breakfast on the veranda this am. It arrived hot and on time. My only complaint so far was that the cabin wasn't as clean as it could be, but our steward took care of a dirty fridge and veranda. I think the new plan to have the cabins ready so early put the stewards under tremendous pressure. Off to Hemingway's House.
Thank you all for your good wishes!

enjoy your time in key west

right - they no longer take roll call -- they do not check the lounges or the cabins to see who is where

A beautiful day in Key West!

We had our Meet & Mingle in the Crow's Nest tonight at 5 pm, but only 6 of us until Mama Lou and her enormous bear, Ryndie Roo, joined us. He's so large that she has to push him around in a wheel chair. He wears coveralls with Mama Lou and the Captain's name embroidered on it. Many, many of the crew have signed the coverall.

How sad for the folks in Christchurch.

Greetings Ricki - I'm impressed on your report on the bed comparison. That's great. Enjoy Hemmingway's house - we loved it and all the 6 toed cats :) please don't forget to import some of the warm weather back with you when you come.:)
