Upgrade/Upsell Question

We just booked a cruise to Bermuda on July 24th directly from HAL. Do they offer any upgrades/upsells directly? When could I expect one if it does happen?

If you booked directly any upgrade/upsell offer would come directly to you, close to sailing time when they know what has and hasn't sold and what categories they need to move people out for remaining possible bookings.

We got a great upsell offer last week for our 3-19 cruise. Came via e-mail.

When we had upsell offers, we were called by our PCC.

it really depends on how many cabins are left

AND

how many guarantees have been booked for certain categories

for example if there have been a lot of guarantees for a low category and the upperv categories aren't selling well -- then hal may either a flash sell or offer some upgrades

hard to tell what hal thinks and does at times

I might wrong about this but I think the Veendam sailings from NYC to Bermuda have been pretty popular so the upgrades and upsells might be few and far between.

They are charging a pretty good price for those 7 day trips because people are willing to pay it much like the Canada/New England trips out of Boston. You never find really discounted rates for those trips which usually means they aren't having an issue filling the boat.
