As promised I am letting CC's know how the procedure worked. First we used the old dock for the 16th feb and the 27th Feb. The immigration people came on board both times. The 16th Feb everything was very smooth and the passengers were all off by 09:30 am. Unfortunately the weather acted up on the 27Feb causing us to arrive an hour late and everything was pushed back. Other then that problem the two cruises were great, at least I figured they were. Take care.

Welcome Home, Barocl.
And thanks for the info. Glad to hear that you had a good cruise. It is good to know that the Zaandam had things figured out better than the Oosterdam.
One question: did everyone have to show up for the immigration process on the ship or just non-USA pax and did they call by deck or was it everyone at the same time?
Where are you off to next?

Just the non- US passengers had to report on board. The US passengers did their thing on shore. The passengers were call by decks on both cruises, starting with deck 1. Of course everyone didn't listen and some went before their deck was called. On the 16th disembarkion the in transit passengers were called after deck 1. On the 27th disembarkation the intransit passengers were called after decks 6 & 7. (last) The only cruise we have booked is with Oceania for next February, but I'm sure something will come up before that date. Take care.

Are you saying that if staying for the second
cruise we have to get off the ship? If so, hope
we get off last. Why would we have to get off
so early? We're staying on the ship!
How long to we have wait to get back on?
Last time we got to stay on the ship. It
was so nice.

Thanks for this info: it is a big help to know only non-US pax will need to show up. It must have gone quite fast, so that is a plus. All we want to do is go for breakfast!
Hope you find another HAL cruise soon!

Another question: Yours was a Collector's Voyage, wasn't it? If so, did they put on a special Cocktail party? Or a separate lunch for Collectors on the turn-around day?
Thanks

We (125 of us) had a special Indonesian Lunch in the main diningroom around 12:30 pm. It was on the 2nd or 3rd day of the second cruise. The Captain, Htel Manager and Cruise Director were there to say thanks for sailing HAL, but they left after their speech. Take care.

Thanks for the info. We have attended the Collector's Indonesian Lunch on turn-around day, but think what you experienced is better timing. Hope they will be doing the same on all ships.
Take care and find another HAL cruise soon!
