We're looking into booking one of the cabanas on the Eurodam and wondering if anyone can tell us if the attendants check your name before letting you into the cabanas? If we have the retreat cabana, can our family/friends visit us or it's pretty much just for the people registered for the cabana?
Just curious how it works.
Thanks!

I'm not sure of the rules but we had some friends visit us for a short time (about an hour) and no one batted any eyelash--our cabana attendant even offered to get them a drink. But I think long-term on a regular basis it might be frowned upon.

The cabana attendants are so nice, they really are more focused on your enjoying their service that they do not have time to enforce trivial rules. We hosted guests that we met onboard daily, and they didn't mention a thing to us. But on the otherhand, we showed our appreciation ($$$) for their attentive service from Embarkation day and regularly throughout the cruise.

Great..I was worry that my family/friends won't be able to visit/enjoy the cabana with us. Now I'm more looking forward to it.

I called HAL to find out about pricing, and was told the cabanas (poolside) are for 2 adults and 2 children.
But as we know, the cruiselines selectively enforce their rules, so I'm sure you wil be fine.

we had a Family Retreat cabana on the NA. The cabana attendants did request our name on the 1st day and they verified which cabana we had. After that, they knew who we were. They did pop out of their cabana almost everytime someone entered the area (assume it depends on if they heard them come in or not).
We had 4 friends vist 1 day for about 45 minutes. They didn't eat or drink anything nor did we expect the staff to wait on them. They stopped by to say hi and to see, as they put it, "how the other half lived."
To be honest, I wouldn't have liked it if there was a parade of visitors every day into one of the other cabanas. The Retreat area was a real haven from the noise and commotion down by the Lido.
If you are going to have more than 2 people in your cabana, I would highly recommend booking the Family Retreat cabana to be fair to the other guests in the area. You are allowed 4 adults in the Family Retreat (not sure if it's +2 kids too or not). Only 2 adults and 2 kids in the others (both regular size Retreat cabanas and Lido cabanas). The Lido cabanas would be very tight for more than 2 adults. There is 1 shared lounger (sort of oval shaped), 2 chairs and a small table.
