We are booked in stateroom 8069 on the Regatta in February of 2006. Has anyone stayed in this stateroom that could tell me about the veranda? The brochure gives the impression that the aft of the ship angles in and that the view would be obstructed by what appears to be the hull. Having sailed Celebrity for the last five years, we enjoy the glass walls of the balconies that give a completely open view.

The balconies in the aft of the ship are not enclosed by "glass" walls. Unfortunately you cannot see through them. The advantage of the rear balconies are that they are deeper and quite private. For what it is worth our experience has been on deck 7 (7114) but the decks have the same configuration.

Thank you, Beatrice. As we enjoy spending time on our veranda for breakfast and gazing out at the beautiful water throughout the day, would you suggest that other staterooms might provide more view? Is it that all of the verandas have solid walls?

We had breakfast every morning on the verandah and had no trouble seeing the sea. Obviously you would have to stand up to look straight down.
The cabin you have has an extended balcony (deeper than the regular PH's) and is considered to be quite desireable because of this.
It is my understanding that they go first. The regular PH's and all the balconied cabins do have a clear wall on their verandahs.
Hope this helps.

Am I to understand that "lesser" choices have an exterior wall that one may see through to look at the water? While we understand that each individual has his or her own preferences, we wish to open the door to the stateroom and have an unobstructed vision of the water, which is why we are there. We are getting conflicting information from Oceania...while we wonder if anyone at the phones has even seen the ship, much less sailed with her. We plead your first hand knowledge. We seek a veranda with a completely unobstructed view, meaning that you can not only look out, but straight down at the water breaking along (or aft) the ship while at table. Should we seek a stateroom amidships to obtain such? Having a bit larger veranda that blocks any view is not as attractive to this couple who seeks to gaze upon the Caribbean from a veranda, unobstructed by hull or railing.
