Just recently a close friend of mine named Mary Birchler won the Kareokee contest in February and was told that she had to come back to sail on March 4, 2011 in order to be eligable to compete for $10,000. She made arrangement to take off work unpaid because she did not have anytime available to her. When she sailed and booked the cruise her entire family wanted to support her so in all over $2,000 was spent on the family sailing on March 4, 2011. Come to find out a gentleman by the name of Terrance Andrews who sailed in December 12, 2010 won the final contest for February 2011 because he could not go on the cruise he was required to take in Jan. So the rules were bent for him and only him. There were other requirments for the Feb. contestants and that was that they needed to check-in and attend all of the meetings that the cruise line set. This man Terrance did not attend one meeting. The cruise line had his name on the ballot as singing first. Terrance never showed up until long after the 7th or 8th person was singing. The cruise director said in the begining of the contest that no late comers would be allowed to participate. However, the cruise director allowed him to sing last, therefore choosing his position from first singer to last singer in the contest. Furthermore, his girlfriend was collecting ballots from general people as if she worked there. It is rummored that some ballots were found in the garbage. After that all of the contestants protested to the cruise director that Terrance should not have been allowed to enter Feb. contest because he was a Dec singer and he did not follow the contest rules. What a scam.
I guess you cannot trust anyone to hold an honest conest anymore.
