If it’s Wednesday, this must be Jamaica...
What a nasty looking island.... I guess that made sail away more pleasant (lemonade from lemons?)...
I had a message waiting on the phone from Pinnacle Maitre’D, asking if we remembered about our reservation for tonight – I told him, “No, it was for Thursday night.” “No, it was for tonight...” again I told him it was for Thursday and gave the reasons... he said he’d see if it was possible and get back with me. I haven’t heard, so guess the 10 of us will just show up at 8:30 for dinner. I also have to try to arrange for a little wine-get-together before dinner. Then I need to copy 16 CDs full of photos for the Thule Group, download new photos from the cruise, try to smuggle on some booze for the Saturday party, get with the concierge for Saturday – wait – this is turning into work!!! Pout...
Dinner didn’t seem that appealing either, so I opted for Pizza in the Lido. The rest of the evening was uneventful – a little disco, a little Crow’s Nest, a little sleep...

Thursday – Grand Cayman Island – SIX ships anchored next to us – 2 Royal Caribbean, 2 Carnivore, 1 Princess, 1 smaller (Seabourn?), and us – I’m NOT going to even try to go ashore until MAYBE noon. Also, there was a note asking for my kind consideration while they shampoo my carpets sometime between 10:30 and 2:30.
I guess most cruises will have a “less fun” day here and there... but I’m still on a cruise which has to be better than being at work...
The ship’s wireless service (WiFi) has been working intermittently, mostly not working – frustrating, especially when trying to use up my minutes... In-room dial-up is ok, but more expensive and slower...

Just keep remembering what the weather is like back home. Makes those lemons a little easier to squeeze!

That's the spirit. Always remember that somewhere, someone is worse off than you, take comfort in that.

Thanks so much for your reviews - they have been fascinating.

We are booked in the cabin next door but one to you for December (an S Suite) and have been trying to find out whether the occupants of the Penthouse will be able to see onto our balcony easily. We do quite like having a totally private balcony and am not sure whether we should try and move a bit further aft. Also do you have a lot of motion this far forward.

Many thanks.

Sue

Phil,

This was a nice surprise to find your post this morning. I've downloaded all of them and will be having a grand time reading over lunch.

Thanks for taking the time!

Your S balcony is barely visible from mine, but may be seen if your other next door neighbors lean around. The first couple feet from the rail towards the cabin are also visible from above. The aft cabins have much bigger balconies but much of the balcony is visible from above. If you're looking to sunbathe au naturelle, they're not really too good anywhere on the ship.
Not much motion, but aft has a lot more...

Sue, I could hear your British accent in your typing. :)

Thank you Thulewx. We may leave our cabin selection where it is. We've never had a suite before and I want to maximise our enjoyment as much as possible. Also I guess its not too far to climb over the balconies to hop into your hot tub!!

Would be interested in any photos you have to post.

Wblynch - very perceptive of you to spot the English accent!
