I'm sailing on Eurodam's 12 night Baltic itinerary this July and am curious about any comments y'all may have - not so much on the ship herself, as I've sailed her, but the itinerary and HAL's offerings there.
I'm hoping Eurodam did the same itinerary last year and some of you sailed her.
Thanks!

I'm cruising on the May 22 Baltic Cruise on the Eurodam. Do we have the same itineraries? I'm very happy about two days in St. Petersburg. Too bad we have to dock an hour away from Stockholm but that's not too bad. Four sea days is a real plus.
My previous cruise was a Princess cruise from Southhampton to the North Cape. The first and last day were a bit "wiggly" on the ship due to winds. Thankfully that did not trigger my motion sickness. Up and down motion does, but the side-to-side wiggling was not a bother except for a particularly strong wiggle that almost tossed me out of bed on the first evening.
Originally I was going to take the Emarald Princess out of Copenhagen for a very similar itinerary. That cruise was 11 vs. 12 days on the Eurodam. HAL prices were much better so I changed to the Eurodam.
Is there anything in particular you wanted to ask about the Eurodam schedule?

I took this cruise mainly to sail with my cousins and fell in love with the Baltic. Copenhagen is a wonderful city and very walkable. I spent two days there at either end of the cruise. So much to see and I could do it on my own.
I took HAL tours in St. Petersburg, visited Catherine's Palace, the Hermitage, St. Petersburg from a local's point of view (subway, market, vodka tasting) and saw Swan Lake.
After two days of non stop touring I skipped Helsinki and rested on board.
In Sweden we went to the Vasa Museum and took a boat ride through the city. Both were outstanding. Tallin was also great. We took the HoHo to the upper town and actually spent most of our time there. We used the Rick Steves guide book for information.
Happy to answer any questions.

Do yourself a favour and try to book your own tours in St. Petersburg. I used SPB and Viktoria was great. As I was travelling solo, she hooked me up with several other groups of two and had a fantatic two day tour and covered everything. Unlike so many others, she doesn't require payment up front and the guide was extremely extremely knowledgeable and I think I saw just about as much of St. Petersberg as possible. And to their credit, on the Eurodam, they didn't try to pull that we give those who buy our excursions preference in disembarking.

Yes, we are booked with Victoria in St. Petersburg and are so looking forward to the busy 2-day tour!
Also, were offered, and accepted, an upsell from our Oceanview cabin to a Verandah at a VERY reasonable price! Check your TA, you should be able to get an upsell on this cruise!

A question for anyone who has been on HAL's Baltic Cruise - does HAL offer any Russian entertainment on board while overnighting in St. Petersburg or do we need to book the shore excursion for such entertainment? Thanks in advance.....
