It's a 30 minute ride to the airport. Last year we stayed in town about 10 minutes from the ship. We choose Hotel Inglaterra.

Best Idea to stay in the Town. It is easy to get the bus from the airport to the Square in Barcelona and maybe choose a hotel close tot he square.

Hi, Kirk.
I'm staying at the Hotel Inglaterra in Sept. pre-cruise. Did you like the hotel/location ? Did you use the aeroport bus from the airport to Paca Catalunya? How did you get to the ship from the Hotel... if taxi, how much ?
Thank You!

As others have said the airport is only about 30 minutes from the port.

If you would like to tour Barcelona I would recommend staying in the downtown area. If not, then staying near the airport is fine.

The hotels closest to the airport are the in a very industrial area with nothing to do around them. You would be far better off staying in town. My favorite Barcelona hotel is Hotel 1898 - they have a grotto pool in the basement and a fantastic bar on top of the hotel where you can have wine and tapas and watch the sunset. More importantly, this hotel is located steps from a Starbucks and the Bouqeria de St. Joseph - both great and inexpensive places to get food.

The best hotel near the airport is the Hesperia Tower Hotel - get a suite - they are FABULOUS with massive walk-in closet, separate tub and shower, separate bedroom and living room! Suites include use of the Spa and the 5th floor lounge with free food and drinks. But again there is not much to do near the hotel. Evo, the 1 Michelin star restaurant is fantastic, btw.
