I inadvertently posted this question on Navigator's Roll Call (sorry:o) and should have posted here. We are booked in this cabin for May 2012 Alaska cruise, and it appears that the balcony is smaller than usual. Just how small is what we're wondering. If anyone has sailed in this cabin, we'd love your feedback. We like being aft of the ship and at the end of the hallway. Since this is so early in the season, we don't think we'll spend a lot of time on the balcony but know we will spend some time there. Thanks!

Is this the May 1st 2012 cruise? We're on that one too. No roll-call yet, too early. I'm in an E on deck 6, midship. Your balcony certainly does look a titch smaller, doesn't it? But no mention in the deck plans of that, however.
I would be a tad uncomfortable about booking an aft cabin like that on Navigator, because of the ship vibration problems. I know I've heard that this situation has been improved, and I've not cruised in one of those cabins, so it's completely hearsay, but I don't think I would book one of them, myself. In fact, that's why we went for an E instead of an F.
(I posted this to your other thread too, by mistake.)

We were on the Navigator last May (after they attempted to fix the vibration) and would not book an aft suite -- particularly on your itinerary. The S.F. to Vancouver sailing is lovely. . . . however, the waters can be a bit rough off the coasts of Oregon and Washington. We were forward on 10 and the pitch and roll was quite severe. Assume it would be the same aft on deck 9. Unfortunately, being aft on most ships is very different than being aft on the Navigator.
Wendy, you made a perfect choice. . . . . low and mid-ship. IMO, the ship feels better than before in calm seas. Not sure if it was because we were up so high and forward. . . but, the ship was rolling in all directions.

Thank you very much for your response. TravelCat2, weren't you originally booked in Suite 601 for your Alaska cruise? Seems like I remember a post a while ago where you had that suite and changed it. I see that they are going to change 601 into a Penthouse Suite. We have that booked for the Panama cruise but will be releasing it tomorrow because our travel plans have changed. We tried to get that suite for the Alaska cruise, but it was booked.

You're right! We were booked in Suite 601 for Alaska. . . . but changed to 1001 (the suite when my DH got very seasick -- unusual for him). It is interesting thatit will be changed to a Penthouse Suite. It would have been great for the Panama Canal -- we did the Panama Canal in January on the Mariner. After being in 1001, we would never book a forward (or aft) suite on the Navigator.
I think you will love your Alaska cruise. It is one of our favorite itineraries. Even the excursions in Alaska are wonderful!

I think Navigator is well known for it's propensity to rock and roll in all directions. I remember it that way, for sure, from our eastern Caribbean a few years back. I actually loved the rocking down in my central cabin on 6, but many folks were affected in the dining rooms. I was fine, go figure (who can get car sick on a streetcar.)
