Really?? They were spreading brine on the roads as I drove home from work and we are having another snowstorm tonight....

No birds singing, no flowers growing or leaves sprouting.....

It makes me turn my mind to...ALASKA!!:D

My 6 year old has been telling everyone since Christmas that we are going to Alaska and doesn't understand why people look at him like he's crazy! We usually go to Barbadoes in January but we had to skip that this year so we are all ready to get on the ship....in August. We will see who is laughing then!!!:p

I'm in the same boat as you. It's been snowing for days in Calgary! Enough already.

The "up" side is that so far, the bears are not around. I cannot imagine how much run off will be in the river -- apparently the ski areas have more snow now than they've ever had in 35 years. And April is a big "snow month" for us. Sigh....

What ever you think of Harper he ain't Ghaddafi :D

Not soon enough! Doing a daily km walk to catch the bus is getting really old. This has been going on since Oct. In the banana belt you guys probably don't even see snow until Dec:p:D.

I hear ya, folks. Last week we actually had a couple of days in the upper 60's, sunshine and beautiful blue skies fooled me into thinkin' Spring was really here. Wrong. Tonight we're getting 4 to 8 inches of the white stuff...oh yeah, with some sleet and freezing rain thrown in for good measure. Bah...humbug...Counting the days til August 5th and my 4th trip back to my heart of hearts - Alaska:D! Somehow THERE the aspects that remind me of winter don't bother me one little bit. Hang in there, Spring will finally catch up the calendar - promise!;)

The last 3 winters have been brutal in Calgary. There isn't anything I like about winter. 60 degrees would qualify for a beautiful summer day here based on the summer we had last year.

Daffodils have bloomed, dogwoods are in bloom, Bradford Pears bloomed and gone, Azaleas are ready for full bloom and tonight there is an outdoor light show of lightning bugs. Spring is heading your way but patience prevails. Plus it's like Fall here in NW Florida as the Oaks are shedding their leaves like a fall day in Vermont.

Chance of flurries again  here in New Brunswick. The snow has gone down quite a bit, but there is still quite a pile to melt. I did see a morning dove yesterday - so hopefully the rest of the birds are on their way back and spring will really be here soon. It's been brutal - why we booked an 'outta here' cruise next year :)

Should I add that it is in the 60s right now (6:30 am). The birds are chirping through my open windows. The Dogwoods are in bloom. And (unfortunatly) the grass is growing so I will get the lawnmower out for the first time this week-end.

Take heart, folks! Here in Prince Edward County, Ontario, the flocks are accumulating - (we are fly through country). The redwing blackbirds are back, the robins are hopping across the bare lawns, and the juncos are taking their final feeds before flying north for the summer.

We are supposed to have snow tonight, but no sign as yet.

In sheltered areas of the garden, the daffodils are just showing a yellow tinge and I hope that the snow does not discourage the growth.

It's on its way!

it has been a wild day here

severe storms moved into our area this afternoon -- not once but twice we had hail nearly the size of golf balls

a couple of tornados hit just 2 miles from our home -- quite a few homes and businesses have been distroyed

at the begining of the storms we were at 68 degrees -- the temperatures are now dropping

by tormorrow it will be in the 20's and we will have snow!!

Well it snowed all day today in Orangeville. I worked from home as the reports out of Toronto were an accident every minute somewhere in the city. People reported that it was the worst storm of the winter. I just shoved over 10" of snow.

Alaska is still looking real good! But to see the grass is the milestone I am looking forward in the short term, and temperatures above zero.

Sure :p Prince Edward County - the love area of spring and summer - I am from close to their originally - don't rub it in ok????

I'm still waiting for all my snow to melt to see the grass and how my flowers are doing. Meanwhile, my seeds are a sprouting - we can't afford to waste time in this area:):)
