Hi, this is my first cruise and I wondered if the bars and lounges serve hor'derves during happy hour and snacks during off hours. Are they complimentary? If not, can you order something from a menu and pay for it? Am going on the one week Alaska cruise on the Zuiderdam.

There are usually a few hors d'ouevres served in bars and lounges during the pre-dinner cocktail hour. However, you cannot order anything off the room service menu at any time to be brought to you anywhere except in your cabin.

hot appetizers -- during happy hours -- this varies by ships
some ships will serve them during happy hour -- others at non-happy hour times
you can get goldfish and/or peanuts with a drink
all are complimentary
there is no menu to order anything from at the bars and lounges on the zuiderdam
also the type of happy hour will vary by ship
check your explorer daily program for the time and place of the happy hour
also -- some ships will not accept the beverage during happy hour
