Reservations for Open Seating?

When are you able to make reservations for open seating dining?

I will be going on the Ryndam this coming Sunday (April 3rd) and want to ensure a nice 2 top for me and my traveling companion in the MDR on the first formal night, April 5th, which is my birthday :D

We are doing the "Le Cirque" dinner in Pinnacle on the 2nd Formal night

when you get on the ship -- go to the explorers lounge -- there will be a table there where you can make reservations for the open seating -- you can make reservations for 3 days at a time

but there are resticktions -- you can only make reservations for the times between 5:15 - 6:15 and 7:30 - 9 pm

Thanks! That should work fine - as I was thinking an 8pm reservation would be ideal. The only night I am concerned about the MDR is that first formal evening - all the rest look to be either Pinnacle, Canaletto or Buffet

On one HAL cruise, if they didn't have a table at your appointed time, they gave you a 50% off chit for the cocktail lounge. I wonder of thats still the policy.
