We've cruised on HAL - but quite a while ago - a Veendam Caribbean as I recall. Recently we've been cruising Celebrity almost exclusively and have enjoyed the "M" class ships, itineraries, food, etc. However, we're kind of tapped out itinerary-wise with them. So.....having lurked around the HAL threads for a while and read many posts that seem to indicate that the HAL and =X= are fairly comparable, we're looking at the "Circle Hawaii" cruise next February. I'd like to know how Oosterdam compares with the "M" class. I've looked at the stats, you know - things like comparative size and passenger numbers, and have poked around this forum to trying to get an Idea of whether we'd like Oosterdam.
We're looking at an "aft" VA on deck 5, hoping it will be somewhat akin to the "afts" of the "M" class, which have wonderful verandas. Am I correct?
If you've sailed both lines, can you share your thoughts on any differences such as "there is no 'T' pool but this or that compensates" ? Is there a specialty restaurant comparable to the Olympic or Normandie? Any other items specific to Oosterdam or the Vista (is it?) class of ships that is special, comparable, or different from Celebrity?
