HAL Slot Machines - can you use Player's bank to get cash?

I forgot if HAL ships casino have the same set up as Princess that you can set up a player's bank on your cruise card and charge your shipboard account for the cash put in your player's bank. At the end you can cash out at the cage without paying the 3%.

I thought we did it last Spring in Eurodam to retrieve extra shipboard credit balance from our account.

We dont have credit balance this time unfortunately, but would still like to use this feature to charge up our shipboard account (therefore charge up our CC to earn rebate).

Can anyone offer info how HAL's slot machines operate?

I do believe that I saw that option last week on Eurodam but since I didn't use it I can't be certain.

We dont gamble. Ooops, "play".

But we do like the feature of Player's bank that allows you to put charge on your shipboard account then cash it out. Essentially I can use this method to retrieve unused shipboard credit or to put more charges on our credit card without real spending. That helps to earn miles or hotel points, or a straight forward 2% cash rebate - depending on which card we use.

Yes you can cash out your credits at the booth. As a matter of fact you have to by the end of the cruise, they will not credit your account for the balance you have on your card. You usually get a call the night before or the last day reminding you that you have to cash out your card. To the poster who said that you can't use cash in any of the machines, when we were on the Westy in Feb we had our choice of inserting cash or charging it to our account. We like to insert cash, it is easier to remember how much you are spending. :eek:

Thanks for your posting, I had been worrying about cashless machines and was really happy to hear that HAL's slot machines still take cash. I, too, would much rather use cash - easier to keep track of that way. Do not want to see gambling charges on my bill.

I used cash "only" in Feburary on the Nieuw Amsterdam..you could use either your card or cash in any of the machines..

I'm planning on purchasing shipboard credit upfront and I plan to gamble. Should I just purchase the amount of credit for my casino nights and then set up a player's bank?
