We are going to the Baltic's - Scandanavia, St Petersburg and Germany in June and are overwhelmed by the private vehicle excursions prices!! For years we have hired a private car & driver in various ports but these prices are very high. Any suggestions on what to see and what NOT to miss in these ports Copenhagen, Helsinki, Wynaahamm (Sweden), Tallinn, Warnemunde (Germany) and St Petersburg would be greatly appreciated!!
Do you suggest cruise excursions or do you have ideas for alternate sightseeing??
Thanks Bunches................:)

Hi spinsbabe

You might be best posting this question on the Northern Europe boards and also find out if anyone on your roll call is organising private tours

Would definitely be cheaper to arrange this with private operators

We are doing a similar cruise in June and some of the ports are expensive. The Scandinavia countries do have that reputation. We are only taking private tours in SPB and Berlin and the prices are reasonable as we have organized a group of 15 for both. SPB is $220/pp for two days and Berlin is 95 euros for one day. The other ports we are DIY. We virtually never take a ship excursion.

Check out the Baltic forum as well as your roll call, you might already have some excursions being organized on your roll call. I know ours does as after ours filled up, another group is forming for SPB.
