From the deck polans I can find on the internet it appears that there is a public verandah on the front of the ship on this deck (6).

Anyone been on that deck who can confirm this?

We are considering a category K inside cabin and need to decide between a larger cabin (207 ft) on the Main deck or a samller cabin (143 ft) on the Upper Verandah deck. If there is a public veandah on that deck,we might choose the smaller cabin with quick access to a balcony.

Thanks for any comments that might help us choose!!

That Deck 6 is not a public verandah deck. For those who have a cabin on that deck, they only have access to their particular area. There are partitions between cabin verandahs.

"Rotterdam Deck and the next three lower levels have open forward terraces, offering views over the bow that are especially desirable in scenic places such as Alaska and the Panama Canal."

We were just on the Zuiderdam last month. We had a verandah cabin on deck 8. Knowing the cabin size, If I were you, I would go with the larger room. You can scoot up the stairs or elevator quickly to deck 3, promenade deck. The promenade goes all the way around the ship and is a good place to see the outside without going all the way up to deck 9.

Have a great time! The Zuiderdam is a great ship and we miss her.
