I got the shipboard credit for my cruise which I booked last Sept. for this May using Code 267. It was for 50.00 per person shipboard credit on the Zuiderdam. I know it only applied to certain dates, rooms and ships. Never hurts to ask your TA. Hope you get it.

Here is what I read:

We received the $50.00 per person shipboard credit after calling our TA. We have 5 S suites reserved for 10/22/05 on the Oosterdam sailing to the Mexican Riviera. At the time we booked our cost was considerably lower then other agencies so I wasn't sure if the credit would apply to our cruise. But after calling our online TA and she contacting HAL several times, low and behold $100.00 shipboard credit for each suite, SPA $$ of course or at least that's what I told my DH. I did discover that the answer may be no to start but don't give up, most of the time it turns out to be yes. Happy Cruising. Shirley

wanted to know how I found out about it, as it is something that's a TA's code.

She laughed when I told her where I found the info. My very special thanks to

The promo is a valid one, but only good with certain travel agencies. True it is good for most, but if you are using a TA that has a group (and you are on the group price which is way less) the promo may not apply. The group price is much less than $100 cheaper!!

Called my online TA and also requested this shipboard credit.

First call he made to HAL was denied because I was paid in full.

When I got home from work today I had an email stating he made another call-got a different Hal agent and I got the $100.00 credit! .

JAGUARSTYPER thanks very much!

Well guys,

Turns out I'm not able to get the credit. Turns out we are booked under a group rate with an online TA...but that's okay because we have a GREAT rate.

On the upside, as part of this "group", we're going to receive 4 bottles of wine and dinner for two in the Pinnacle.

Thanks for alerting me to the promo and I'll keep checking things like this!

Also, is this promo only for 7 + day cruises?

Well, there will be lots of toasts, it seems. :D

As always, I'm happy to share any info that might help us save some of our hard earned money. I'm also happy to see how many people have been able to take advantage of the credit.

My TA finally returned my call today to tell me we got the credit, too.

I'll be sure to toast one to all of the CC board participants.

Amy,

Looks like we're the only ones who aren't eligible for this credit...

But just so you know...I booked with a TA as well...I'm not with a group of my own...but it looks like the TA put some cabins aside and they are creating their own "group" which gives a benefit of good rates and other amenities (such as the wine and dinner at Pinnacle we're getting.)

Has anyone who has received the PROMO 267 credit booked through Priceline, or National Leisure Group? They are the ones that Priceline uses. I am being told that HAL does not recognise them for the credit. Before asking them to call several times to get the right HAL agent, I wanted to know has anyone else gotten the credit booking through Priceline or NLG?

Amy & Tiffco,
I also booked with a TA that put cabins aside and got a great rate. We also got the Pinnacle dinner, wine, photos, and she got me the $100 credit after I called her. Noticed your cruising on the Oosterdam in Nov. and we're sailing on her 10/22. Did she even call HAL? What was her reason that you didn't get it? It can't be the group rate as I still got it with one. I would give her a call back.:)

This was the reply I got today from my TA:

Amy,

Unfortunately, that promo does not apply to this particular sailing date :( I'm sorry!

Definitely worth the try though

Hmm. We did get a great rate (only about $50.00 less than any online agency), the photo/pinnacle/wine deal. I hate to think she didn't check? We purchased 3 cabins, so you'd think she'd really go out of her way. We've already made final payment - do you think that's why? I even forwarded her this link to show that everyone and their brother was getting the credit! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

[FONT=Comic Sans MS][SIZE=6][I][B][COLOR=Magenta] We are going on the Mexican Riviera Cruise aboard the Oosterdam October 22nd. We booked this cruise last July. A couple months after that I heard about Promo 267 and called my online agent. Thinking that we had received such a great rate for an S cabin on the Rotterdam Deck (nearly $800 less then anyother online agency) I thought for sure we might not qualify, :D but sure enough $50.00 per person ship board credit was applied to our cruise. There are several of us cruising this trip, but we each made our own reservations with this same TA and all received the credit. Not sure if this is of any help. But don't give up too easily. I think our first answer was maybe, maybe not.

We too aren't able to use this promo on our 4/23/05 Oosterdam cruise. Our Cruise-Connections.com TA said she called HAL and was told that the promo expired in January.

We got a really good deal on our aft "S suite" that I'm guessing is part of a group rate, and the real reason we won't get the Shipboard Credit.

Oh well, it was worth a try!

I was able to get $50 each for my 4/23 sailing on Oosterdam (3 of us in S aft suite). I booked directly with HAL which may have been the difference. They were the same exact price booking direct as the Orbitz, Expedia, and several other net TAs for the 4/23 sailing when I booked it. Maybe because HAL didn't pay any TA fees, they were able to get me the credit

Not trying to cause any trouble here, just wanted to let some people know in case they also booked direct.

Smoosh21 - would you mind terribly emailing me? I think I may have more leverage w/ HAL if I knew more of your situation? Maybe last name? or even cabin number? I know that sounds incredibly intrusive, but my TA says that it's not applicable to my sailing and clearly it is, if you got the discount. I was going to call HAL directly and see if I could get it. Amy,

I have seen others in a similar situation. I was able to get the promo on the 5/14 Zui sailing, yet another couple on our roll call thread were told the promo did not apply to that sailing.

DH called yesterday to reconfirm that it did, indeed, apply to the 5/14 sailing. At the same time he got the promo for our 11/13 sailing on the Westerdam as well!

Good luck.

I'm amazed at the inconsistency of this promo. I was able to get the $100 credit, but since we have 3 of us booked in a cat S suite, I asked why not $150? I was told it was only applicable to the first 2 "full fare" passengers. Friends of ours booked on the same cruise were denied the promo. They were told their fare was a special group rate and the promo could not be applied.

Strange...Oh well, I guess I'll be satisfied with the hundred bucks.

Last November when we booked we inquired about this promo, our bricks and mortar TA was able to get us a better credit based on their deal with HAL. We got $75 each. Friends we're traveling with were also able to obtain the $75pp credit also. I think getting the credit depends on several factors. I was happy to get what we got, it's more than we got last year when we booked an S category, this time we're booked in an SS cabin.

If I understand correctly the additional is because of the TA's relationship with HAL, kind of like the extras some have received from certain online TA's.

DH was tired of hearing me whine about Promo 267 & how others on our roll call were not able to get the shipboard credit and we were.

So he called HAL directly this aftenoon and spoke to someone at special services. This person [and he did get a name] assured him we were getting the $100 credit for BOTH our upcoming cruises, 5/13 on the Zui and 11/13 on the Westerdam.

Previous calls he made were with TA to reconfirm the credit. But this time he went directly to HAL, as several posters said their TAs were telling them the 5/14 sailing did not qualify for the credit.

This doesn't answer all the questions, but I found it when I did a google. The site was from an travel agency which I will not identify.

Promo #267: A one-category upgrade is applicable to the purchase of outside staterooms based on specific ships and categories OR a shipboard credit applicable for 7-11 day cruises at $50 per person, or 12+ day cruises and all cruisetours at $100 per person is applicable to the purchase of verandah suites. A two-category upgrade is applicable to the purchase of outside verandahs on any Vista class ship, categories VE-VA. Upgrades apply to outside and verandah outside staterooms only. A passenger cannot upgrade from an outside to a verandah stateroom or combine this upgrade with any other upgrade. One-category upgrade is applicable to categories H-E on Prinsendam and H-DD on all remaining ships.

Another thing to do to make sure you have the credit is to email guest services. Inquire about your onboard account explaining that you want to make sure that your credit is listed. I did this and received a quick reply that, Yes Mr. ______. you have a $100 credit on your onboard account. Easy and reassuring....:D
