I tried the Ports of Call Board and couldn't find much of interest.
Anyone know of some good shopping in Freeport? Any nice stores with something better than the usual t-shirts and trinkets?
Thanks if you can help.

Freeport isn't Nassau by any stretch.
The main shopping is the International Bazarre. Think of it as a flea market.

We ended up in Freeport when one of our ports was canceled due to bad weather.
As I recall, we had to take a taxi to the shopping area. We didn't find anything interesting and went back to the ship after about an hour.

Thanks. I thought there might be some decent shopping in the area of better hotels.

The shopping is a little better at Port Lucaya than the Internatinal Bazaar. The International Bazaar was really great in a fun funky sort of way forty years ago but never really had upscale shopping like Nassau had. Things haven't improved much lately either.

isn't much unless you are going to the beaches or diving. The shops prices are pretty much price fixed and the same at either shopping area. And no real bargains. Remember this is a private island run by the casino company and leased from the Bahama government.

Is HAL going to be using Freeport on some cruises now?
