Are the balconies on the Amsterdam completely private?

Yes - unless you stand right at the rail, right next to the divider - then you can see onto the next verandah. Most people don't do that.

I guess it all depends on what you define as private. I would not stand out there in anything that you would not like to be seen in.

What I meant, sorry about that, was do the dividers extend all the way from the floor to the ceiling? Last cruise on another line they did not and it is not as inviting to squander idle hours there. Ha!

The balconies on HAL ships are more private than many of the other lines....there is a space at the bottom and at the very top that is open, but more than once I have had breakfast in my nighties on the veranda of a suite. The veranda room balcony is smaller, and although still private not as spacious.:cool:
