Soon to join our sixth Regent cruise, boarding in Athens, we usually use the Regent ground package with transfers from Hotel. I am wondering what the procedure is if we do not use the Regent Transfer to the Port.
How easy is it at the check-in and what happens with our baggage etc. Is there a Regent rep at the port where the taxi arrives etc?
Would welcome advice from anyone having experienced this at Piraus.

As I remember it, it was seamless. The port services several ships, so just make sure your cab takes you close to the Regent entrance--I'm sure there will be someone there to direct you. The cabs will know where the cruise port is; it's off to the left of the long section of ferry docks, as you face the water.

We spent 2 extra days in Athens last year before our cruise. We had arranged private tours with Nikos and got him to pick us up and take us to the airport the morning of departure instead of taking a regular taxi. We wouldn't have had a clue what to do if we'd been on our own, but Nikos knew exactly what to do. He went inside and brought out a Regent representative who took care of us and our luggage and showed us where to go to wait until we could board.

This report is a little jilted due to the cruise being cancelled BUT when we got to the port we were asked did we want our bags taken or did we want to take them. We kind of liked looked like What? Then they said its part of our service. We then walked to the regent sign in table only to be asked did you sign in with port authority (show your passport)so we went back to do that. So my point is make sure you check in with the port booth before you go to the regent desk. Also arrive before 4pm otherwise you will not be able to eat on the veranda deck due to them closing down for the life boat drill .
