Does anyone know which tapas restaurants are fun and reasonable in Barcelona? I have heard mixed reviews on Ciudad Condal.

We ate dinner at Cerveceria Catalana, it was terrific and reasonably cheap, around 45 euros for three and that included some wine.

A fun place for tapas is Bilbao Berria right on the cathedral square. You just point at the prepared items you want, sit down and your waiter brings drinks. Each item has a toothpick of different colors. When you checkout, they charge by the toothpicks you have collected.

We loved Ciutat Comptal and have eaten there many times. Their shrimp brochette is yummy, they have delicious asparagus bundles and also a delicious mushroom dish. We avoid the tapas with mayo.

Another tapa place we went to more than once is Tapa Tapa on Passeig de Gracia. It is large and airy and the food is very good.

At any tapa place, you pay for each and every dish, so it adds up quickly. Enjoy!

We love Txapella also on Passeig de Gracia. The first time we found it we ate there for lunch and dinner. Great food and great atmosphere. Sit at the bar for maximum fun.

Whenever we go to Barcelona we head to Txapela again:)
