What is permitted?

I realize the cabin has one, but can you bring your own hair dryer? What about curling or flat iron, and a clothes steamer?

Definitely not the flatiron. Your own hair dryer and curling iron are OK. I'm not sure about the steamer, but I think that's a no-no also. Use the ship's pressing service or Downy Wrinkle Releaser. :)

you didn't mention which ship you will be on but if you are on the ryndam, statendam, veendam, massdam, volendam, zaandam, rotterdam, amsterdam or the prinsendam -- they have laundry rooms that have irons and ironing boards besides washers and dryers

unfortunately on the vista class and signature class ships -- oosterdam, westerdam, zuiderdam, noordam, eurodam and the nieuw amsterdam there are no laundry rooms -- so if you want anything pressed -- you have to send it out to the laundry

I could be wrong ... but I believe a "flat iron" is a hair straightening tool ... not for pressing clothing.

you can take your hair dryer (if you want), curling iron and the flat iron (for straightening your hair). The flat iron is no different than the curling iron. :) Have a great cruise:):)
