Can someone tell me if the Westerdam has self-service laundry service? I know you can send out things to be laundried, but on some ships you can do your own laundry.

Thanks,

Jean :)

One thing I don't care about on the new Vista ships is no self-service laundries. Hopefully they'll bring them back on the future new ships.

When we all learned that the Zuiderdam didn't have any self service laundries, we let HAL know about it.

But did they change the plans for the Oosterdam, Westerdam, or Noordam?? No.

HAL firgures that for most of the year these new Vista class ships are primarily used for 7 day cruises and HAL figures that people shouldn't have a lot of laundry in 7 days. What HAL didn't count on was that some of us do back-to-back cruises, go to Ft Lauderdale a few days early and stay 1 or 2 days after the cruise - that's a lot of laundry.

Can you give me an estimate of how much laundry you can have done for the $12.00?

Thanks again. Jean

It is a small laundry bag. Holds approximately 2 pairs of jeans, 4 t-shirts, 4 pair sox and 2-4 underwear. More if light weight clothes and you can pack them in tight.

They also offer an unlimited laundry package. Cost depends on length of trip. 7 days in the $45 range.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your cruise. We were on the Westerdam in January. She is lovely.

We were on the Westerdam on Feb. 6-13. You can have all your clothes pressed not cleaned all week for $30.00. The only drawback is that it takes 72hrs to get them back. But they sure do a great job pressing the clothes!!
